from Youtube to AudioCD

I love watching music video… but sad to say, my car doesn’t have an LCD, nor it have a DVD player. So i’m stuck with a car cassette player that comes with AM/FM radio player as well as a CD player/changer equipped at my car’s trunk. I had to listened to radio stations everyday; which is boring – since radio stations only play songs repetitively and Radio stations will only play singles of a singer/band if the song is already released to the radio station by the record company, singer or band. So, you might like a song so much, but you won’t have the chance to hear the songs being played since its not yet released to radio stations. Boring.

Since music video is out of the story, I tested playing my mp3 CDs. Not working (it detects the file, but not able to play it). Reading the manual also shows no signs of mp3 being supported. Duh, Boring 2x. I guess I have to figure out something else.

Well, I actually did. Since I have a bunch of videos from Youtube and my Firefox browser already equipped with the right extension to download online videos, why not download the videos and convert it to AudioCD? I’m not sure if the idea is realistic, but i am willing to give it a try. Then, I started googling around for couple of days and I finally found a software called MP3/AVI/MPEG/WMV/RM to Audio CD Burner from Ether Software. The cool thing about this software is that it helps to convert audio and video files to AudioCD easily. Files format supported are:

• mp3/wav/wma/ogg/ac3,
• avi/divx/xivd, mpeg/dat,
• wmv/asf/asx,
• rm/rmvb, mov/qt,
• mp4/m4v, 3gp/3g2, and
• flv files!!!

And not just that, this software also have cool features such as:

• Able to write to CDRs and CDRWs with the size of 650M(74min),700M(80min) or 730M(83min)
• It needs just ONE click to burn the AudioCD after loading the audio and video files
• Simple and easy to understand UI – so that you won’t get confused and accidently spoilt your CDRs!?

Now, I’m a happy driver having my favorite songs playing when I’m driving. But, please remember, the download copy of the software is only a free trial (and it only burns 5 files to the CDR/CDRW) – yes, its not totally free. Anyway, for now, I will stick to this software until I find a replacement software (hopefully Open Source) or some other methods that can help me get my music video files to play in my car. EZnet – No registration required!

Have you guys heard about TMNet EZnet? its a pre-activated dialup service, which is available to all TM phone line subscribers! the cool thing about this is that you don’t have to register to use it! Means, you just need the phone number to dial, which is 1315… and you are ready to browse the net! No username and password required! this could be really handy when you just need to go online somewhere, and there are no hotspots, no broadband connections available… (that’s what happen to me actually, and as aspected, I’m currently using EZNet to blog.. ). As for the charges, it’s 4 cents per minutes which sums up to RM2.40 per hour. Remember, dial up connections are at the limit of 56.6kbps – its slow. So, if you do a lot of download, please get a broadband connection instead – you get a better return for ‘value for money’.
